Traveling to a translation event abroad is beneficial in many aspects. One of the main reasons to do it, is to meet with professionals in the industry who would share their experience of working in a different market setting than that of the USA. The other reason is to get a sense of the foreign culture of the host country. Most such conferences include some form of sightseeing but if the event you are going to doesn’t offer a tour, you’d better allow yourself one more day and explore the city.
