2017 turns out to be quite a busy year in terms of e-learning events held both in the United States and abroad. As professionals working in the industry, you most likely have a pretty tight schedule already, but here are some international events that might not want to miss. Attending an e-learning conference held outside the USA might be a challenging task since it can be costly and time consuming, but they do offer a rewarding experience in return. You have the opportunity to meet with foreign experts and enthusiasts working with the latest trends and technologies. On top of that, you get to experience personally the foreign culture and its nuances, which can be very helpful when you come back home and start creating the content of your next online learning course. You can use the tips you learn and your personal impression to prepare better material and even create e-learning content that is localization-friendly and beneficial for your company training because you learned directly from the source. For your convenience, we’ve compiled a list of five international e-learning conferences that are worth your consideration.

EDULEARN17 is the 9th annual International Conference on Education and New Learning Technologies that takes place in Barcelona, Spain on July 3-5. eLearning Africa 2017

eLearning Africa 2017 is the 12th International Conference on ICT for Development, Education and Training. The event duration is three days and it is scheduled for September 27-29, 2017. Every year the eLearning Africa conference is held in a different country and this year the host is the Republic of Mauritius. The forum brings together high-level policy makers, practitioners, investors and decision makers from the fields of education, business, and government and provides them with a platform to exchange ideas. The event reminds us that Africa is not a single country but a continent that consists of 54 countries and has five different time zones. While the official languages spoken at the conference are English and French, the people on the continent speak as many as 3,000 different languages and dialects. The theme for the 2017 forum is “Learning in Context,” since context is highly important in education in general and in Africa especially. Some of the topics that will be covered by the seminars and workshops are:
• The African Context
• In Search of Education for All
• New Methods and Tools for Excellence in Learning
• Overcoming Technical Problems and Ensuring Equal Access for All
• The Power of Technology: Future Trends and What They Mean for Africa
• Focus on Skills: Education and Labor Market Needs
• New Partnerships and Initiatives for Sustainable Development

Since eLearning Africa is the largest gathering of eLearning and ICT supported education and training professionals in Africa, it is a must for those who seek to build multinational and cross-industry partnerships and enrich their knowledge and expertise.
